Regarding the precipitation of auto paint during usage and storage
Precipitation is the term used to describe how some fillers and pigments may sink to the bottom of the cans when vehicle paint is being stored. As a result, the overall consistency of the vehicle paint is no longer maintained, and the spraying results in extremely subpar results. The following factors are typically to blame:
1. The temperature in the storage areas is excessively high or there is a significant temperature variation.
2. The product has degraded and the paint has outlived its shelf life.
3. After diluting, automotive paint is kept in storage for too long.
4. The paint mixing machine does not often swirl the paint.
5. Color paint pigment fillers are not finely powdered and are not evenly distributed.
So how might the precipitation issue be avoided?
It is recommended to regularly replenish the stock, using the first item placed in the warehouse to avoid expiration date. Do not add thinner before storing. If the mixing machine is stopped for a period of time, the color basecoats should be stirred for about 15 minutes, and it needs to be fully stirred before use. The ideal storage temperature is 20 to 25 degrees Celsius.
